God can make something beautiful out of our mess

Published by dzanang under reflection Edit This

I painted our bathroom white from red. Francesco said that I leave the rest, the wall facing the bathtub. But in the corner I couldn’t paint only one side without smudging the other. Francesco said that I should have put a tape but I didn’t think of that. Anyway, out of my mess, he did something to cover it up. I wanted to take a picture but our camera’s battery is dead so I painted it instead.

Can you see how beautiful the transformation turned out?

Blessing in disguise?

During the Sabbath School Lesson one beautiful Saturday, our group leader was talking about how a criminal ended in prison and was converted to Christianity through an inmate.

As the story was told I came to think whether he was predestined to be a bad person in order to find Jesus in prison.

Was it a blessing in disguise? I don’t think so. He wasn’t meant to be a criminal as a way to find God. I’d like to put it this way instead. God can turn our ashes into beauty. Out of our mess, God can make something beautiful. Just like how Francesco corrected my mess, God can do the same into our messed lives and even better things.

Some say that it was God’s plan for Joseph’s brothers to sell him and end in Egypt. Once there, he became a ruler and later saved his family from the famine. But the means was not what God would have wanted, I believe. God would and never will allow cruelty to carry on His plan.

God is powerful enough and He has numerous ways to carry out His plan without His followers or children resorting to crime, violence, cruelty, and deceitfulness.

So the next time something nice comes out of a bad thing, remember God turns that ash into beauty.

Have a blessed day!
