Getting paid for cleaning the church

Published by dzanang under reflection Edit This

A couple of weeks ago, I got asked if I wanted to clean the church. Without a second thought I said yes. I didn’t even ask if I was going to get paid. I thought it was some kind of a voluntary act. And I was gonna do it for free. I had been helping in cleaning the church when I was a small kid and I thought it feels great to do it. Anyway, I learned that I was going to get paid for it and I was a little surprised. It’s good that I was going to get some money but then I had known and done this thing to be of service to the Lord so I really don’t think I want to get paid for it. Besides I’d do it only once a month.

Anyway, this week was my turn. I wanted to do it on Monday after the free coffee day at 1pm but I went out shopping for a coat. Then I got asked to work at the factory and since I worked at night and get home at half past six in the morning, I go to bed right away. Good thing they didn’t call me on Thursday. But I was too exhausted so I did it today.

This morning I was chatting with my friend and I mentioned about this thing–cleaning the church and getting paid. I told her that I really didn’t want to get paid and I didn’t know what to do with the money. She then suggested I give it as an investment. Voilà!  When I get the money I will put it back in the offering bag.
