Extreme Faith by David Gates

Published by dzanang at 3:49 pm under reflection Edit This

Don, a former student sent me a link to this video of David Gates where he talked about his extreme faith. As I watched the video and listened to his testimony I felt jealous of the size of his faith. Actually when Don sent me the link he mentioned about “A few months from now and we will be going to our heavenly home.” To be honest, I got scared. I got scared because I think I am not ready. I have been planning so much about my future and failed to plan about meeting Jesus.

Anyway, I watched the video and was impressed by David Gates extreme faith. At the beginning he was differentiating presumption and faith. I once thought I was acting on a faith and carefully assessing the situation I couldn’t see a point where it suggests that I was presumptuous because I prayed for a sign and I got it but things didn’t turn out well. Listening to David Gates though, it made me think that we are emdowed with a kind of faith according to our capability to consume it.

Like Paul, David Gates is entrusted with a bigger task than I am and therefore his faith compliments the task appointed to him. The point is, I maybe entrusted with a smaller task but like the parable of the talents, but my reward is the same with David Gates–eternal life. Please take time to watch the video by clicking here . You will benefit a lot.

Lord, give me the faith of a child.
