God is love
My earliest and first memory verse which I loved to recite when I was a small girl. Every Saturday during Sabbath School I always recited this one at the top of my lungs, “God is love!” I didn’t even know where in the Bible it came from. But it surely was the only I managed to memorize for all those years.
Well, God is love and that’s it. God created the world for us, provided us with basic necessities in life for free–a planet to live in, sun which is a source of energy, air to breath, and water to prolong life. And that was not enough. When man failed in Eden, He sent his only son to redeem us from our fallen nature.
as I grew up, this verse got longer and I also learned which book and chapter from the Bible it can be found. “Love one another for God is love.” First it was only a statement. But now it has turned into a command. We ought to love one another because God is love. Since we are created by Him in his likeness then we ought to be like Him.
Eventually, I read it in the Bible myself, I John 4:8 “He that loveth not knoweth not God God is love.” Forbid me to be judgmental but this verse seems to suggest so.
Well, every human on planet earth is equipped with ability to love. We all want to love and be loved. Does that mean we all got what it takes to know God then? But how come man is making the same mistake that Lucifer made in heaven? Resisting God’s love and trying to be equal with Him though not in power like Lucifer wanted but in knowledge.
People even try to deny His existence. What a sad, sad thing.
Well, despite all these God remains to be a God of love. The sun, air, and water He provided in the creation are still present to support our life. God is sure a God of love then, now, and forever.
