“For He shall give His angels charge over thee to keep thee in all they ways.” Psalm 91:11

When I was a little girl my mother taught me this verse to recite whenever I felt afraid and it sure made me felt safe and secure. Before I went to bed, I would also recite this verse and then I would doze off to dreamland.

I have heard time and again how people use the whole chapter of Psalm 91 as their shield and weapon against the temptation, sickness, and such. When my cousin was stricken with malaria, she had the Bible open on this chapter and laid it by her side in bed.

Ithought it was indeed a noble idea and I did the same. I used to fear that death would come by at night while I was asleep. So to keep my sould at peace I would lay open the Bible on Psalm 91 and put it above my head and sleep with the thought that an angel was carefully watching over me.
